The Southeast Biomedical Engineering Career Conference (SEBECC) 2009 brings together students & practitioners of Biomedical Engineering and the Life Sciences for panel discussions, technical sessions, and informal extended exchange of ideas important to the future of Biomedical Engineering. Some conference highlights include:

- Keynotes from Dr. Mark McClellan, Director, Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform, Senior Fellow, Economic Studies, Leonard D. Schaeffer Chair in Health Policy Studies, Brookings Institution and
Patricia Scheller, CEO, Prescient Medical
- Assisting participants in planning their academic and industrial careers
- Introducing companies to the wealth of intellectual prowess rooted in the Southeast

SEBECC 2009 is hosted by Biomedical Engineering at University of Virginia and Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. All universities are welcome to attend.
